This has aromas of grapefruit, lemons, green apples and flint. Subtle nutmeg. Fresh and driven, with a medium body and plenty of tension. Mineral and fresh finish. Drink now or hold.

Le Figaro rating: 89/100

Château Picque Caillou, 2021 White
A fresh, complex and pleasant nose with sweet honeyed and floral notes, together with more tangy aromas of pink grapefruit. More lemony notes of bergamot and lime come through on the palate which develop into a straight, taut finish.

Falstaff rating: 91 Pts

Château Picque Caillou, 2021 White
Very pale yellow-green, silver reflections. Delicate aromas of meadow herbs, some peach, a touch of lime zest and pineapple. Medium body, white apple, fresh acidity, salty finish, drinking well already.

Les Echos

Château Picque Caillou, 2021 White
The aromas and the wine of this 3.2-hectare urban vineyard are predominated by the Sauvignon Blanc which shows lovely density and good ripeness. The wine displays an air-light energy and smoothness. A strong showing by Picque Caillou.

Château Picque Caillou, 2021 White
Mainly Sauvignon Blanc with a soupçon of Sémillon, this wine has lemon freshness along with a floral character. The oaking has performed its smoothing magic while retaining the youthful fruitiness. The wine needs to age for several years. Wait to drink from 2024.

James Suckling rating: 92-93 Pts

Château Picque Caillou, 2021 Red
Deep dark fruit with blackberry, black-truffle with orange-peel undertones. Medium-bodied with juicy fruit and a flavorful finish.

Bettane+Desseauve en Magnum rating: 90-91 Pts

Château Picque Caillou, 2021 Red
A lovely aromatic complexity in which fruity and floral notes mingle alongside great minerality.  The wine has an attractive entry on the palate followed by a good tannic presence and a mouth-watering finish. A wine with energy and refinement.

Weinwisser rating: 17,5/20 2027-2047

Château Picque Caillou, 2021 Red
A delicate bouquet of red berry fruits along with subtle notes of violets, white pepper and redcurrant jelly. Slenderly structured on the palate with a silky mouthfeel, fine-grained tannins, surprising elegance and a fine, taut body. A lovely aromatic finish which concentrates flavours of red cherries, graphite and pleasant coated tannins. This promises to be a classic vintage which can improve still more in bottle.

Les Echos

Château Picque Caillou, 2021 Red
Made with a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine expresses fresh aromas of blackcurrants. Lightly extracted, the wine displays a form of lightness and freshness that makes it already very approachable. Enjoy it now for its beautiful, bright fruit character or wait a few years when it will have softened and gained in depth.

Wine Enthusiast (Roger Voss) rating: 93 Pts

Château Picque Caillou, 2021 Red
While this wine is still young, it has all the makings of fine richness. From vineyards surrounded by the suburbs of Bordeaux city, it has acidity along with blackberry flavors and pure fruitiness that balance the tannins. Drink this structured wine from 2026.
